In Memoriam

I never thought I’d like

Splitting weekends

Or mom giving permission

Without dads consent

Or sharing a room with my mom

So she doesn’t get lonely.

My single family life

Came to an end.

And I’d never thought I’d like it.

I don’t care about the double

Christmas.

Or the special treatment

Because they feel bad about

Splitting up

I don’t care that dad is a suck up

Or that mom isn’t as frugal.

In the strangest way

I feel this is the best thing

That could have happened

To my single family life.
